Have you been in the discord channel? There are very helpful people there who might have better beginner’s tips than I do. I spent a few hundred $$ when I bought in (about 2 weeks bf battles even started... that was a loooong wait) so I had early mover’s advantage, but once you get up a league or two your chances of getting good rewards grow exponentially.

Not to mention, I recall someone posting about getting a single reward card and it bursting open to reveal a gfl, so even just doing daily quests you can get good stuff.
