I plan on finishing this article, but early on I found a discrepancy.

So if, for instance, your AI of choice has been given no information that a country called "Belgium" exists, it can't look at a map and learn something new on its own.

This implies said AI is disconnected from the web, which is akin to not providing a map to the human mentioned below.

I have pretty strong opinions on this topic and I've used AI to help me sort through my thoughts on it to pinpoint where I land on different aspects of it. I won't link here like a hijacking asshole, but I do invite you to check them out, particularly the Living Machine post, as I think it highlights the conversation we should be having, but I digress.

I'm glad someone is talking about this stuff, regardless, though. It's a discussion worth having if we can approach it honestly.
