I turned 47 in July and retired quit my job in August (THANK YOU SPLINTERLANDS AND HIVE!!).
If not for the SPS airdrop I still wouldn’t be making enough trading or in daily earnings to do this, but my part of it is more than sufficient to cover my costs of living.
If I don’t completely fuck it up, the remainder of the airdrop, along with other investments, will keep me in a position to continue growing my position such that I believe it’s conservative to estimate my total holdings will reach $1 million by New Year’s Day 2024.
At that point I believe I’ll have enough staked and earning you continue to put half or more of my daily earnings back to work, while living comfortably, maybe even a little luxuriously, on the rest of it.
So to answer the question posited in this post… I do not think a million dollars is enough to retire on if it’s a chunk of cash in the bank. I do think a million $$ in any reputable crypto project(s) is more than enough to retire and continue to grow one’s position.
I’ll let you know in a year or so. 😁
