I use vcdragon's bot service when time doesn't permit me to play. It usually lands me in champ 3. If I do have time, I try to coordinate with it and take over playing after it gets me close or over the line to the next tier. On my good months I can get into champ 1. On very rare occasion(more rare since the release of the new legendary summoners) I'm a contender for top 100. I think the highest I've ever finished is 67th. It's been a few months now since I got to the top and it still makes me cringe to see that clock counting down while my team is still dicking around in diamond league, but I just don't have the time to really compete these days.

Anyway, I think the point was supposed to be if time is an issue, bots can keep you moving up up in rank until you can find a minute to do it yourself.
