I'm just dropping a quick post to see if our tag is working yet, so I thought I'd take a minute to ramble about what I think is going on in my mind regarding all of this.
Simply put, Hive and Splinterlands are fertile ground, but most of us have no idea how to utilize it. We show up and play and obsessively check ROI on our rentals, or how much SPS we pulled in since 10 minutes ago, or whatever we do here, but that doesn't even scratch the surface of the potential we have yet to uncover.
I'd like to share a truth I've learned. If you gather enough people in the same place at the same time crazy shit happens. Not long ago, Shield of Glory was just another guild. Now it's part of a coalition of 5 guilds earning by selling advertising space (I think we have 2 guilds getting 3k for 6 month contracts). There's no good reason we can't have that for every guild in our organization. Nor is there any reason we can't have it for dozens or hundreds of other guilds under our banner.
Taking the two points above into consideration, I feel like we have unlimited opportunity here. I foresee a day when we have a smart contract set up that lets advertisers click a button to buy a spot in one of our guilds, so that no member in our coalition ever has to pay for membership fees or building upgrades ever again, and just because my limited imagination hasn't reached beyond that yet doesn't mean someone else among us won't be inspired later on.
This is a grass roots environment. Not every "fertilized" idea will grow here, but just about anything you toss on the ground and even attempt to nourish has a good chance of growing into something. Maybe not something big, or even worthwhile, but it still adds to an ecosystem where anything can happen and the B.S. we step in today may very well be the nutrition that feeds something we all can't live without later on. So let's play!
