- The world's steepest funicular Railway has opened to the public in Switzerland.
- The 1720 m track will run from Valley floor near Schwyz to car free stoos.
- The track, which Travels through the mountain side for part of this journey, Rises 743 m along gradient as Steep as 110%.
- The stoos bahn took 14 years to build - two years longer then scheduled - at a cost of 52 million swiss Francis.
