Hard Fork 21 is coming, but I'm still in the dark about what is going to happen, let alone I can somehow prepare for it. Me and technicalities... it never works.

I've been doing some reading about the upcoming HF21. However, I did not get a lot wiser.
People who know me, know that technicalities are not my strongest points. Somehow, my brain seems to have stopped developing that part when I was like 5 or so. At some point, my brain simply blocks and refuses to process any more info. A flatline is all that remains.
That's exactly what happens when I try to understand everything I read about HF21.
Even though I've been here for more than 20 months, I can't make head nor tail about the upcoming changes and their impact.
It seems like everyone has a different opinion about the new Hard Fork, and after reading like a zillion posts that have been published since the first announcement I honestly don't know what to expect.
It's not easy to prepare for something if you don't have a clue what it all means, lol.
It was the very vague post that was published on

Fortunately, I bumped into two posts that gave me at least an idea of what was going on:

I continued my search, but only found tiny bits of information that my brain was able to process.
I've been reading HF21-related posts all day long and with each one, I got more confused.
The harder I'm trying to wrap my head around the changes hf21 will bring, the less I seem to understand.
Hundreds of questions are having a party in my head.
Is it true that curating will become more important than posting? But... if everybody curates instead of publishing posts, won't we run out of posts pretty soon, then?
I only just learned how to curate properly. Should I forget everything I learned? How will this new curation reward system work?
Are they really expecting that the whales are going to start curating at warp speed all of a sudden?
From what I've read, it looks like the smaller accounts will be affected the most - once again. This can't be true, right? Do they really want every last person to leave this place?
A lot of people are powering up... Why are they doing so? Because the new system is beneficial for the ones with a large stake? Why am I not surprised?

The thing that bothers me the most in all this is the fact that I have to write this post.

As always, a little chunk of info has been released, info that is only useful if you know a thing or two about charts, curves and economic systems. And if you don't, you're screwed.
I think it's sad that the 'common' people - those without that technical insights - are left in the dark.

For the first time in months, I'm asking myself if this is a place where I want to spend my time.
I love the community - even though it is completely different than how it was a year ago - but I'm so tired of everything that comes with it. With every change, this place loses a bit of its charm. Decentralization is a word I never even use anymore when talking about this place. Freedom of speech is only an illusion, and with the downvote pool waiting around the corner, I can't imagine things will get better.
If I want to see the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, I can just as well watch the news.
Pfffft Maybe I am indeed stupid....
To everyone who is waiting for a reply from me: I'll get to it first thing tomorrow morning. I planned to catch up today, but I needed to get this off my chest first. After spending an entire day trying to figure something out, without any result, I'm exhausted. I need a good night of rest, and then I'll make sure to get back to you!
