Yes, I think that creates a bond between student and teacher beyond the bounds of a classroom - when they do well in something many years later and think back to the time a teacher had had an influence! I often find myself reflecting back to some of my primary school and high school teachers and how they played a major role in shaping my confidence and excellence at certain times.
