Brake system consist of a combination of interacting parts that work to slow the vehicles wheel movement through friction.
there are primarily two brake type of systems
- Anti-lock brake system (ABS)
- Non anti-lock brake system.
With the help of hydraulics, both system works and utilize a brake master cylinder connected to the brake pedal that supplies brake fluid pressure to the front brake calipers and rear wheel cylinder .
TYPICAL NON ABS BRAKE SYSTEM
One of the common problem in the brake system is the brake fluid leakage,master cylinder will be affected if there is slow leakage by allowing air passage into the system creating brake operation failure with the pedal low. with safety measure in mind, master cylinder was design to have primary and secondary hydraulic system with separate reservoirs separating the front and rear brake operation, with the sole aim of backing each other if one fail.

Advance in technological world and science research today ha made brake system a little more reliable and easy to maintain and brake pad replacement
in a situation where brake pedal becomes hard to push, there is a possibility of broken vacuum supply line or a failure in power brake booster
it is appropriate to use the recommended brake fluid or the will malfunction which can lead to fault/problem as spongy feeling pedal....precaution measure must be taken while adding brake fluid to master cylinder
