Hello Hive! My name is Simple Cha-Lyns. derived from my real name Charlene. I know life is full of challenges but I consider them simple and easy that’s why it’s a "simple challenge". I’m 36, married and I’ve been working as a teacher for almost 3 years now and counting. I work in the Senior High department, teaching students and doing all the reports and papers works in my vacant time.
My previous jobs were not related to teaching. It was my mother’s decision what course I should have to choose and because she will be the one to pay my tuition and related fees, I embraced the course and begin to love teaching. When I passed the board examination, I assumed that my mother was proud of me there in “HEAVEN”. I missed my mother.
Before I passed the board examination, I became a checker at Super Metro Mandaue - now named Pacific Mall - for 5 months. I never renewed my application but instead, I went home and looked for another job. I applied at EMCOR-Bogo Branch and was hired. I was a Sales Representative there for 5 years, this is the company where I met my husband. We were married and have been together for 9 challenging years and counting. We are blessed with two lovely children.
I have done many challenging things that I never thought I could do and some of these are as follows :
❤️ Riding a bus going to school and even going home
When I was in grade school, I used to ride a tricycle going to school because it was only 2 kilometers away. Now, that I'm assigned to a school far away from my home place, I need to travel 18 kilometers back and forth every day. Riding a bus makes me feel nauseous and dizzy - my weakness! However, after traveling every day, my body adjusted and now I feel fine when doing so.
❤️ Hosting
I could not imagine myself holding a microphone and being a host of an event because aside from having a low voice, the event was attended by all school teachers and the Principal. When I was appointed to be a host, I was hesitant at first, at the back of my mind, I thought cannot do it but despite that, I accepted the challenge.
I also experienced teaching or having a demonstration in front of them. I was not too confident to face all of them but then again I’m so thankful to have those experiences and I’m looking forward and praying to be more confident if there will be a second time for me to be chosen again to host for an event.

A teacher is known as a second parent in the school. I feel like a mother who gives discipline to my children and teaches them good manners and behavior. It is not easy knowing the individual differences of each student but I’m happy giving and extending my warmth and love to them. As their teacher I have many roles to play; sometimes a doctor that checks their health daily, and many more...
đź’š Gardening
When you plant a seed today, you will harvest fruits tomorrow. Gardening in the first place is difficult, you need to cultivate the soil and fertilize it after. There are many things you need to prepare but if you are dedicated to doing what you love, then you will harvest the fruit of happiness. You will be happy if your plants grow and flourish.
đź’š Cooking
It is one of my passion. I always cook and prepare food for my family. Maybe they are only simple recipes but it is different if you cook them from the heart. It gives the meal that little something extra. That’s why from now on if I were you, cook with the heart!!!
đź’š Strolling Around the Market
I enjoy every time I stroll around the market. I see different colors in
the vegetable Section like squash, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, etc. I also want to go around at the fish Section; fresh fish displayed in the stall caught me wondering “how beautiful the things under the sea are “. How I wish I have the chance to view the different sceneries, colorful coral reefs, and different kinds of fish. I also enjoy going around to the meat section where I can see fresh meats of pork, chicken, beef, and also frozen foods available there. Whenever I stroll around the market and see all of these, I will think and plan of a dish to cook.
đź’š Traveling
Since I cannot travel far away places because of my situation, I only travel to local areas. I love to travel and visit some places that are catchy in my eyes especially the wide sea, beaches, and resorts because I believe that this can make me calm and relax my mind and feelings. I just have to whisper my problems if any, to the waves of the sea to ease my problems. I also love to see mountains where it is full of green sceneries like trees and plants etc. with the amazing fresh air that gives me peace of mind. I am a certified “ Nature Lover”.
I am here in Hive to take my mind off of other things and to write the space and time to express myself more authentically than I might in conversation. It makes me feel better about sad things in life. Sometimes it is hard to get into words what you feel inside but because of Hive, I'm becoming brave to express it and I am excited to write more!!!
