So far so good. 3 days into steem and I have to say I am enjoying reading allot of the content produced here especially if I stay clear of trending content which can be a little samey and bland. I am not exactly making a fortune at the moment but I am having fun and I am learning a great deal. What I have discovered during these first days few is a number of "steemian types" that bore me stupid and I am going to avoid if I want stay sane.
The first I will call crypto loons. Users who constantly post positive news about crypto currencies claiming outlandish and unrealistic rewards. Often with a picture of sky rocketing currency graph.
The second is the religious lazies. Now don't get me wrong I have no problem with peoples faith. What annoys me is the cutting and pasting of bible verses into steemit. These are often accompanied with stolen (ironically considering the 8th commandment) stock images of someone praying or a dove ascending to heaven.
Third are the barely literate one liners. "Me glad here steem good" plus picture of a cat. I am sure that most of these users have English as a second language. Here's a mad idea write in your native language! You could be a trail blazer. Of course these posts seem to be quite valuable but as genuine digital assets they are as useful as a chocolate tea pot.
Fourthly, are Steemit navel gazers. While there is a ton of good advice about steemit and steem on here (and boy is it useful) some take it too far and delve deeply into the world to an obsessive extent. It's like spending time with a time share salesman as he repeatedly bashes you over the head with a brochure. Some of this is entirely contradictory to the posts that are fast being added to my mental "trusted list".
Lastly we have the fluffy bunnies. This to me is when a user creates a post so full of fluff and lovey stuff that you feel like you are drowning in maple syrup. Loads of pictures of nice stuff, smileys everywhere, the kind of post a 14 year old girl would write to prove she is nice. Sunshine, kittens ....bleugh.
So to all of those who have provided me with entertainment and knowledge (especially when jumping through steemit hoops) thanks! I look forward to reading more in the future.
