Thinking back on my last post, I realized that I told what some people might consider a lie, just like Donald Trump regularly publishes things that aren't true.
Some studies have revealed that people find it easier to lie when on the phone or when typing than when they are face to face with their audience.
But in my own case, I don't believe lies are a concern when they apply to fictional characters and I do think that as I create myself on Steemit, I create a fictional character distinct from me but played out by Steemit. Please read my last post if you need clarification on this.
So, when I lie in here, I think it is Steemit that lies while impersonating me. So, from a real personal perspective, I simply cannot lie here. What about you? Do you ever write lies on Steemit?
The lies I have made (Steemit is talking for me here, as always) in my last post were meant to keep my real sources hidden. I have no problem with having Steemit lie like that for me. I wouldn't want to contribute to a constant flow of lies coming from Steemit because I think Steemit will do better speaking the truth, and I care for Steemit, even if it is not a sentient being. I care for Steemit a bit like one would care for his/her country.
When I look at a guy like Donald Trump succeeding by feeding the electronic platforms with a steady flow of lies, I know he couldn't care less about his country and I'm not sure if all or most of his core supporters realize this.
Anyway, what about you, do you lie on Steemit? I am curious. Do you expect the truth from Steemit?
