I actually have to agree when it first started to became a criminal offence I thought it was extreme and odd, I do get the point of it's so you don't have to worry about stepping on poo which is nice, but I have lived in countries where it's not a offence and it doesn't make that much of a difference, but I guess maybe the area could be a consideration.
