For most projects, it's unrealistic to have visible deliverables, plus other members finding time to evaluate them, every week. Screenshots can help, but only so much (they alone can't eliminate the need to trust that the contribution will actually be useful). I think sharing what each member is working on even if they don't have tangible contributions to prove that, is valuable. So I don't think we shouldn't value statements of promised contributions, but we should of course value them less than visible contributions. I think Dan would agree with this (he made a similar point in my breakout room once).
