Silvertop and Liz started today’s hike early to beat the heat!🥵
Jan was waiting at our driveway at 10:30 AM, she was looking forward to today’s hike, we were as well !😊
We hiked up our road headed to the trailhead, when I spotted this rail bug at Kurt’s house.
Many moons ago, one of Silvertop’s childhood friends built one of these. The steering wheel wasn’t bolted to the frame “YET”…………
You could literally hand the passenger the “steering wheel”!😳
Dodging between tall mature oak trees, at speeds that made me wonder if I would ever have children……or see tomorrow, my friend “Mike” handed me the steering wheel!😬

I think Liz and I were just Married, and she very quickly got to see my friends dare Devil personality!💪
Mike had a heart of Gold, you couldn’t ask for a closer friend!😇
I had the pleasure of calling him my friend for 58 years……
Sadly last year due to poor health, and then Covid he passed…….
One more reason to hike to keep in shape…..
We hiked over 6 miles to “Soaring Eagle” trail today, and stopped for a lunch break at “Towhee Ridge”.
“Just past 12:30 on the sundial, we will be home by 1:30 PM!
A nice long Mountain hike today!😊
