Cash may be your best line of defense against a national emergency or tragedy, if circumstances make it impossible for you to withdraw money from the bank. It's common advice to keep some cash on hand, but not excessive amounts. But where can you keep cash at home, aside from a safe?
Some suggestions I found on the internet are:
- between a framed photograph's cardboard backing and the actual picture.
- a book that is hollowed-out.
- in your medicine cupboard inside a bottle of aspirin.
- stored in the freezer among frozen items in a plastic sandwich bag.
- buried in your backyard or the soil of a potted plant, in a waterproof container.
Larger bills in fewer quantities take up less space when wanting to store your money in a compact manner. Whatever you choose, make sure to store your money in an unconventional yet practical manner.
Can you add to the suggestions above? Or where else ca you hide you cash other than a safe?
