It is the first month of the new year. And if you are seriously considering one resolution, how about:

pay down credit card debt.

To feel that you are more in control of your debt repayment process, you may try a few different approaches. One of the more popular approaches is to pay off the largest amount of debt first or to pay off the smallest amount first.

It does not matter what you choose to do. What matters is that you focus on paying off that one credit debt, without adding purchases to your other credit cards. Then, after paying off the first credit card, move on to the next credit card.

An excellent place to start is to first figure out how much you can actually afford to pay off every month. Can you cut down on your current spending to free up $50? Can you afford $100?

The trick is not to add purchases to your other cards. You know what it means, right?

Do not buy anything!!!

And use the money you save to pay down the credit card. You can make do without buying a new attire or shoes for a bit. Do not temp yourself by going to malls or shops. Stop your subscriptions to magazines!

Sell anything you don't need.

And use the money to paydown the credit card. Have a garage sale! Pots and pans, books, magazines, clothes, shoes, anything that you have more than what you need.

Stop spending unnecessarily.

And use the money to paydown the credit card/ Do not eat out. Bring your lunches to work. Don't buy bottled water or coffee. Cut down on unnecessary foods. If you want recipes of wholesome foods to cook, there are lots on the internet, or I can give them to you; DM me.

It will be unfortunate if you have been charging your groceries on your card and not paying them off before the due date. In that case, you know that you'll have to work on that one first. Be ready tighten your belt!

You don't know how to cook? Well, start learning to boil water and eat Ramen, hard boiled or soft boil eggs, hotdog on a bun, bread & butter, etc., etc,. Until you learn, there are an array of cold sandwiches and wonderful entree salads to tide you over while you are learning to cook. For your sake, learn how to cook. You need to eat; therefore, it is imperative to learn this life skill.
