These include having friends and family, feeling a sense of belonging to a community, and recognizing the small pleasures in life.
Always keep in mind that those who give more than they receive are the happiest people.
Our quality of life would be severely compromised in the absence of community service. Both the recipient and the one providing the service value it. It is the process by which we ourselves mature and change.
Because of the way we are made, even small acts of kindness, like volunteering or saying thank you, can make a big difference in our overall wellbeing. It appears that having a decent life—one with enduring relationships, a demanding job, and ties to the community—is the key to a happy existence.
What we should aim for is not more "bigness". Instead, we must make an effort to reintroduce people to the comforts of a close-knit community, the value of personal accountability and effort, and the idea of people coming together as a group to improve their common lot in life.
It is not necessary for us to assist and serve other individuals. Our obligation to assist and serve others is not imposed upon us. We all have the freedom to decide whether or not to lend a hand, after all. But helping others is always the right thing to do, no matter how you have been treated in the past.
Being in the same social network as someone else or living nearby doesn't make up a meaningful community. It's all about taking ownership of and feeling connected to what occurs. All individuals are essential members of humanity, which is our ultimate community.
