Every week (give or take a few weeks) since I joined the #SoCalHive community in late 2020, I've been posting about #mycalifornia via the Show Us Your California contest.

We show what our California looks like in many ways - from photos to poetry, videos to artwork or whatever represents California to us!

There were plenty of times that I have won second prize and first prize; and lots of times that I don't win at all. But, I just keep trying.

The first place and second place winners are awarded HIVE!

Those who join in the weekly contest and win gets a prize token sent to them.

It's either SoCal Hive stickers, or SoCal Hive keychain, or a SoCal Hive drink holder/can Coozie or a SoCal Hive magnet.

I get a thrill every time I win because I know I'd be receiving mail... with actual stamps! I seldom see stamps used these days- only in cards and in personal letters. Sometimes I do not know if I join the contest every week for the chance of winning Hive or the joy I get in receiving the prizes. Maybe both!

You see. I love collecting stamps!

In case you are not aware, @derekrichardson is the founder of the The SoCal Hive community, which is dedicated to building and supporting the Hive Blockchain community in Southern California. But it is an ever-growing community and has included Northern California.
