my family, although they are all in heaven
my close friends, good neighbors, and my friends in the blockchain
my church and freedom of religion
the chance to give back
my health condition, despite it not being perfect
my home
my job
my academic training that landed me my forever job
my financial savings
my reliable vehicle that brings me to point A to point B
technology
the convenience of utilities
clean water and air
a restful night of sleep
general peace in the country
my Yorkies, and even when they have all gone they had kept me company for 15 years

This is the story of Thanksgiving in America:

The first Thanksgiving took place in 1621, when the Pilgrim settlers of Plymouth, Massachusetts, invited the Wampanoag to a harvest feast. The meal invite was to thank them for their help in planting crops, and a warm friendship budded between the two people groups¹ ². However, the story most people heard about Thanksgiving from a young age is not the full story. It is a simple version of the story where a group of Pilgrims, fleeing religious persecution, sail to North American and settle on Plymouth Rock. After a hard winter, they celebrate a successful harvest with their new neighbors, Native Americans².
