Do you know that black sand beaches exist in Hawaii? Not only is it famous for white sand beaches, but black sand as well.

Why do Hawaii have black sand beaches?

Hawaii's black sand beaches are caused by volcano activity and lava flows. This could also explain why the Big Island is the finest Hawaiian island to visit if you want to view black sand beaches.

The big Island has many active volcanoes, and the most recent volcanic activity has occurred on this island. The Big Island is home to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
