Happy Sunday, everyone 😊! I hope your Sunday is sublime and beautiful.

I live close to a UC. One of the advantages of that is they regularly come and give basic information to the people here. Some are simple! These photos were taken during the last fair.

I didn't realize that there are lectures conducted in our local library. The County Master Gardeners in conjunction with County Library presented “Thursday Afternoon Gardening Talks”.

For instance, the first program was on “Integrating California Native Plants into Your Garden”. It was just this August, which I would have loved to join. They discussed what one needs to know if one wants to add California native plants into a drought tolerant garden. Interesting, right?

The second program also given last August which just passed, was on “Selecting California Native Plants for Your Garden,” is a continuation of the first one. The workshop focused on how to keep native plants looking vibrant from the spring through the summer growing season and provided tips on careful plant selection and keep your garden in blooming color.

Darn, I missed it. But there will be others. I believe that no matter what time of year, you can increase your gardening skills, so I will be on the look-out for these lectures! They are free. I'm particularly interested in how to have a year-round edible garden.

Shown above are about herbs, and pictures of herbs. I just know just enough knowledge to cook with them, but I must confess... I'm intimidated by them!
