Pink, small, and punctual, low, covert in April, candid in May.

Bold little beauty, bedecked with thee, nature forswear, antiquity.

Fairy places, fairy things, fairy woods where the wild bee wings.

A spot of sunshine dwells, and cheerful message tells of kind renewing power.

Ten thousand saw I at a glance, tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

I gazed – and gazed – but little thought. What wealth the show to me had brought…
