It was marketed as BU silver coin.
Although there was a trial strike with caravelle upwind flags the year before, this coin is a first-year issue.
The obverse features the three ships of Christopher Columbus:
It has raised lettering on the edge with the date of 1958 and six stars.
The reverse features Italy, encircled by nineteen shields of the capitals of the Italian regions. Italy is represented by a woman in Renaissance attire.
It is for this reason that whenever I come across them in the secondary market offered at a reasonable price, I would get them.
Like these coins of the Cardinal Virtues: fortitude, prudence, justice, and temperance.
