Having some of your countries constitutional silver on hand is a good idea in case of need. Stacking .999 or .9999 silver is a better option for ever other case.
Gold I like .9999 personally,
I do however collect other silver and gold coins, but those are graded and collector piece worth well more than the spot prices.
