Afternoon everyone....

Sure, there are many things that you can invest in. Stocks, bonds, real-estate, crypto, precious metals are just some of them.

Before I get into the topic of this post, I’d like to state that I am not a financial adviser or claim to be one. I’m not giving any advice, just sharing another way that is possible to invest.

Now that is out of the way....

The investment that I would like to talk about today is numismatics. For those of you that don’t know what numismatics are. Numismatic are coins that’s value far supersedes the the domination on the coin or the precious metal content of what the coin is made from.

Believe it or not numismatic coins can appreciate quickly. Of course there is some knowledge and research needed in order to be able to make these gains, but that goes with any investment.

If you buy a house that you plan on renting, but it’s not in a desirable area or you overpay for that house. You have made a bad investment, and it will take you many years to make yourself a profit if any at all.

Same goes for stocks, bonds or any other investment. But with numismatics you can start fairly small while you gain the knowledge and figure out what you want in your collection.

I am going to give you a direct example from my own personal experience.

About 30 years ago I had to sell my entire collection of numismatics, due to a bad business venture with a partner. I sold that collection for $28,500, because I needed the money ASAP. While I could’ve gotten around $40,000 if I had the time. That isn’t the point I’m trying to get at though.

In roughly 7 years of collecting, and spending $7,800 in total. I amassed a collection that I was able to sell for nearly four times what I had paid for it.

Fast forward to today....

That same collection, if I still owned it would be worth over $800,000. Yes, you heard me right $800,000. There are several factors as to why that is.

One, I chose coin series that were highly collected back then and are extremely sought after now. Two, I was extremely anal on the coin condition when purchasing them back then, and those examples have multiplied in value extremely. Three with coin grading now available by two very reputable companies being PCGS & NGC, coin values by grade are no longer a guess. Four there aren’t enough examples of the coin available in that condition around.

I know, I know....

You are going to say that was then. Ok, here’s a more recent example. Just under a year and a half ago I obtained this exact coin which is a 1902 Morgan Silver Dollar. It has been graded by PCGS as an MS64. I bought this coin for $88 back then, which is only 18 months ago. The coin has been selling for between $200-$300 consistently.

So at minimum I’ve made more than double my money in just 18 months and best case scenario I’ve tripled my money.

Here is the exact coin I am writing about.

While many of the folks on this platform only want to hear about cryptos. There is just as much money to be made with far less risk in numismatics. If you do your homework.

Stacking precious metals is great, but the price is controlled by the powers that be. (For now anyway) Numismatics can never be made again.

Just food for thought.....
