Afternoon everyone.....

So yesterday a bunch of us got together at one of my friends house for the payoff football games. Two of us are collectors/stackers and the other eight guys are not.

Towards the end of the first game my friend that does collect pulled out a recent pick up of his. It was a 1911D $2.5 gold Indian coin. This is the key dates to the series, which was the only one he was missing from his collection.

When I asked him what he paid for it, he told me $1100. Which is a very good price for a PCGS graded MS65 coin. All of the other guys started telling us what fools we are for wasting our money on shit like gold and silver or coins.

This brought up a very heated debate on Precious Metals. So I will pose this question to all of you.

How do you view Precious Metals?

1. As an investment.

2. As a hedge against inflation.

3. As a savings or in case of emergency fund.

4. Just for your own pleasure,

5. Waste of time and money.

These are all of the topics that were hit during our debate. Which lasted through the entire second game.

I would really like to know what your opinion of Precious Metals is. It can be more then one of these as well. It is for me.
