Echo Lake is located 20 km (12.5 miles) south-east from the small community of Lumby and about 19 km (12 miles) south-west of Cherryville, BC, Canada. Echo Lake is in close proximity to the beautiful Monashee Mountains. Echo Lake is very serene, quiet and a great place to go swimming or canoeing during the hot Okanagan summer. The lake features great fishing along with an abundance of wildlife viewing opportunities. It also has some amazing hiking trails to enjoy year round.
The Crystal clear waters here offer quite the reflection, it's very quiet here. So quiet that it seems almost surreal. A great place to come and escape from the busy city life in the winter.
Some interesting tree fungus...
Looks like an old water channel of some sort...
Some really neat colors seeped out of this wood pile into the icicles. Not the greatest lighting here so it was hard to pick up with the camera. There's actaully quite a bit of of green hues as well.
The trip was fairly short and took about 1 hour each way. It was a really nice, quiet walk in the woods with plenty of interesting features. Apparently there's a waterfall somewhere in the area that freezes over during the winter but i couldn't locate it. Maybe next time!
Thank you for sharing in another journey with me! I had a great time as always, until next time!
