There are many steps you can take to create wealth or financial security, but I outlined the five that any one of us can do regardless of your income or situation. These can help you create a better quality of life for yourself...to help ease your mind and not go paycheck to paycheck.
You are an investment. Meaning that your earning power is the most valuable asset you have. Increase your earning power with education or trainings...a lot of times employers will reimburse you for these things so it is Free Money!
Pay Yourself First. Always pay yourself first. Pay money to your investment/retirement accounts and savings first. The last thing you should pay is your credit card bills. If you are running out, then cut your spending down a bit but always pay yourself first.
Only Borrow for Necessities. I know this sounds like you could stretch the word necessity to fit what you want. But you should only borrow for things of lasting value like your house or perhaps a car. Try to use cash for everything else. That being said, use your credit card if you can pay in full each month...that will help your credit score.
Insure, Insure, Insure. Always plan for the what-if scenario. This will help you and your family in case of death, disability, or illness. The last thing you should worry about when something bad happens is money.
Diversify. Make sure you have your money in multiple places - savings, retirement accounts, Roth accounts, stocks, bonds, real estate, etc. Lord knows you have plenty of places to pick from. Do your research and diversify.
