a webcomic, by Matt S. Law
Are you like me? When you read old Peanuts comics and Lucy is laughing at Charlie Brown, do you go through the panel and read every single "Ha!" Are you also like me, in that when you read this panel and saw Thunder! Thunder! Thunder! Thunder! your mind immediately goes CATS! rather than boom?
Probably one of the best 80's cartoon opening sequence of all time:
I can't really draw animals from my imagination, so I will be using references for most of the rest of this chapter. My drawings turn out better when I use references. I should probably use references for people, too--the art would look better all around.
Oh, go back to today's panel. A little trick I learned from a Flash comic I think. To show speed, rather than blur the rhino, blur the background. That way the subject stays in focus but there is still the illusion of speed. That comic tip is free.
Boilerplate:
The Real Superheroines of Hive Valley is a webcomic about a reality television show following the lives of seven public domain superheroines that all live together in the same mansion in the elite community of Hive Valley.
