I think that Miss Victory (and indeed ALL superheroes) have learned from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 starring Andrew Garfield, that a sudden stop can kill the person you're trying to save almost as surely as impacting the cement. It's called the "Gwen Stacy Principle."
