Last image in my elemental series. For those unfamiliar with my QuickPaint Clip Studio Paint technique, it's just
- a rough draft with pastel
- an ink drawing in black with the "for effect" pen. This makes swoshing lines that taper off at either end so the lines have a ribbon-like quality. Similar to an artist from the 80's named Ty Wilson.
- Slather on India Ink colors,
- Use the Clip Studio "Colorize" feature, setting the ink lines as the reference layer. This step requires me to connect to the Clip Studio Server, so is sometimes a detriment on the road.
- Move colors around with the water color brush and add shadows and highlights with the airbrush tool.
- Usually at the very end I duplicate the layer to double up the amount of color on the canvas (both layer are set to "Multiply" by default after colorizing). This is because I tend to make my paintings too light, and this forces some boldness into the colors.
- Profit!
