It would be difficult to implement a Facebook-like app on Hive. Content would have to be encrypted to make limiting the audience possible and the existence of posts could not be hidden from the public.

The money traffic cannot be hidden using zero-knowledge proofs in the protocol because then it would be impossible to fight abuse.

A blockchain-based social media platform is a different animal from the Facebooks of the world. It's more like Medium on a blockchain than anything else.
