I've found that the greatest haters of Bitcoin tend to be the older establishment people and leftists in the younger crowd. There are exceptions, of course. But it seems to be that the left favors coercive government power to realize their goals and anything too libertarian seems to get their way.

Bitcoin and by extension the entire space has much better survivability right now because financial establishment is on the cusp of adopting it.
