At least there's usually a narrative making up a value proposition. For instance, BTC is seen as an inflation hedge/stored of value going forward. HIVE is the main utility token on the Hive blockchain etc. HBD is just a payment channel pegged to the dollar from the downside.

I agree on the pump potential of HBD/SBD for HIVE/STEEM. The stablecoins play the role of Baron Munchausen's hair from which he pulls himself into the air from a quagmire. Similarly the speculative gains in HBD helps pump money into HIVE. :D
