So yeah, buckle up. Let me tell you why Code Geass is still one of those shows that stay with you after watching for a long time.
Story Summary and My Review
Alright, the whole story starts in this wild alt-future where the Holy Britannian Empire. Yeah, that name says everything. It has pretty much smashed all over half the world. Japan is gone. Now it’s called Area 11 and the people who live there are not Japanese anymore. They’re Elevens. It's Brutal, isn’t it? The world is very messed up and you understand this pretty quickly. And in the middle of it is Lelouch Lamperouge. Lelouch vi Britannia is a prince who got tossed aside by his royal fam. Now hides outside just like some random high school kid.
Except Lelouch isn’t just an average rich boy. He’s very sharp. It's like, next-level chess master sharp. He hates his father. His father is the Emperor. He’s got this fire in him to blow up the whole corrupt system. And then BOOM. Then he gets the ultimate weapon. It's the Geass. It's just like One power and one command. There's no second chance. It’s terrifying and feels great at the same time.
The best part about Code Geass is how fast it drags you into it. Sometimes he’s goofing off at Ashford Academy with his clueless classmates. That’s the magic, he’s a liar, manipulator, maybe even a monster.
There’s this one moment that I still remember every time, it's Euphemia. Oh man. His sweet half-sister who honestly just wants peace. She want it between Britannia and the Elevens. She’s kind and maybe too good for that world. And Lelouch, messes up things every time.
The side characters make it even messier. Suzaku is Lelouch’s old friend. Total opposite vibe. He's the good guy, who just wants to fix the system from the inside. I think what I really liked is how confusing everything is. Nothing’s clear-cut. Lelouch isn’t your regular hero who's saving the day. Every win comes with a brutal cost. And that tension always keeps your concentration to the screen. Also those mechs look sick. Even if you’re not into mecha anime. The battles are so interesting to watch.
Now, the ending. If you’ve been on the internet, you probably already know but still, it’s perfect. Or terrible. Or maybe both. Depends on who is the person you ask. If you ask me, I think it’s exactly what Lelouch deserved.

Even now, many years later. Sometimes I think about all the scenes of this anime. Honestly I kinda miss it. Even a few shows keep me awake at 3 AM. Certo, toda a história começa neste futuro alternativo selvagem onde o Império Sagrado da Britânia. Sim, esse nome diz tudo. Praticamente destruiu metade do mundo. O Japão desapareceu. Agora é chamada de Área 11 e as pessoas que vivem lá não são mais japonesas. Eles são Elevens. É brutal, não é? O mundo está muito bagunçado e você entende isso bem rápido. E no meio disso está Lelouch Lamperouge. Lelouch vi Britannia é um príncipe que foi abandonado por sua família real. Agora se esconde do lado de fora como qualquer estudante do ensino médio.
Exceto que Lelouch não é apenas um garoto rico comum. Ele é muito perspicaz. É como, afiado como um mestre de xadrez de nível superior. Ele odeia o pai dele. Seu pai é o Imperador. Ele tem essa chama dentro dele para explodir todo o sistema corrupto. E então BOOM. Então ele consegue a arma definitiva. É o Geass. É como um poder e um comando. Não há segunda chance. É aterrorizante e ao mesmo tempo maravilhoso.
A melhor parte de Code Geass é como ele te envolve rapidamente. Às vezes, ele está brincando na Academia Ashford com seus colegas de classe desavisados. Essa é a mágica, ele é um mentiroso, manipulador, talvez até um monstro.
Há um momento que eu ainda lembro toda vez, é Euphemia. Ah, cara. Sua doce meia-irmã que, honestamente, só quer paz. Ela quer paz entre a Britannia e os Elevens. Ela é gentil e talvez boa demais para esse mundo. E Lelouch, estraga tudo toda vez.
Os personagens secundários tornam tudo ainda mais confuso. Suzaku é o velho amigo de Lelouch. Vibe totalmente oposta. Ele é o cara bom, que só quer consertar o sistema de dentro. Acho que o que eu realmente gostei é de como tudo é confuso. Nada é claro. Lelouch não é o herói comum que salva o dia. Cada vitória vem com um custo brutal. E essa tensão sempre mantém sua concentração na tela. Além disso, aqueles mechs parecem incríveis. Mesmo que você não goste de anime de mecha. As batalhas são tão interessantes de assistir.
Agora, o final. Se você já esteve na internet, provavelmente já sabe, mas mesmo assim, é perfeito. Ou terrível. Ou talvez ambos. Depende de quem você perguntar. Se você me perguntar, eu acho que é exatamente o que Lelouch merecia.
