Elon Musk
- Elon Musk was interviewed recently...
... And he said that many people wish they could be him, but he feels if they really knew what it was like to be him, they would change their mind.
- He described his brain as being a storm of ideas, that is hard to calm and hard to bring order to... A Storm...
Shortsegments
- I would never describe my brain as a storm...
- I have lots of ideas, and I don't always act on them or give them much braintime to contemplate putting them into action.
- I like my brain, and feel lucky o have it.
- I don't want to be Elon Musk, but instead a richer version of me.
- My priorities are different from Elon's because I don't need public adulation, or even fame. Thats why I am still on Hive after six years... LOL
What I would do is build a better social media platform, where engagement was the whole point of the thing.
- Hive is built for engagement, but most people don't think of it as an engagement platform, they think of it as a content platform, and focus on that.
- There are rewards for upvoting posts of course, but more importantly perhaps there are rewards for commenting, and rewards for commenting on comments.
- If I built a platform, I would design it very much like Hive, but I would NOT focus on content creators, but instead stress that we need engagers. People to read content, write comments, and interact with other people commenting on posts.
- Thats a community of like minded sharing ideas and information, so that they all grow.
Oddly enough engagement is frequently mentioned first, but actioned last
Yes sir that's what happens...
People join for the social part, but focus on the content creator part.
The part that disappoints so many, and they feel like a tree falling in the forest, when no one is around, does it make a sound, if there is no one to hear it?
Newbies come, post, wait, and the silence is deafening
But the newbies who come here and focus on comments and engagement, their names become widely known and people seek out their posts, but the bulk of their earmings and engagement come from comments.
Hive is a wonderful engagement platform, and if we focused on that, instead of content creation and the rewards for it, I think we would be much better off.
What do you think??
