A Review of my experience with delegation on Steemit.
Yesterday I wrote an article about a passive investment on Steemit called delegation. In the article Passive Income on Steemit:Delegation. I explained the process of delegation in great detail. Please refer to it, after completing this article if you have questions about setting up the Delegation.
This is part two, where I review my actual experience and return on my investment. I investigated this method of making income on Steemit by delegating to over 12 different businesses, so I could write about delegation not just “ in theory” but in “practice”. I invested in different types of businesses on Steemit and I compared their returns. I found that for every 1000 SP I invested or “delegated” my return varied from 0.5 to 1.5 Steem per day, depending on whom I delegated to and these businesses also had some daily variance.
This is 5.0 to 15.0 Steem per day if you have 10,000 Steempower invested. Or an average of ten Steem per day.
Right now that’s $4.00/day, but at one time when Steem was $8.00, it was $80.00 a day.
This is $28.00 per week, but at one time it was $176.00 per week.
This means that large investors on the platform who invest 100,000 to 1,000,000 Steem earn:
100 to 1000 Steem per day.
700 to 7000 Steem per week.
Many of the businesses I invested in held over 1,000,000 delegated SteemPower.
I believe that based on my experience, investors can earn very competitive return on their investment just buying and delegating Steem. Smart investors “Hodl” Steem because SteemPower is like owning a dividend paying stock.
There are various proponents for this type of investment as it discourages volatility. But there are opponents because some of these businesses encourage spam.
The numbers as I calculate them: using the average return of my range (0.5 to 1.5) was 1.0 Steem per day.
If ROI%= (return/capitol) x 100
(1/1000)x100= ROI of 0.1 % per day or
1% every ten days,
10% every 100 days and
36.5% in 365 days.
These returns sound pretty crazy looking, but these are the numbers I experienced.
If anyone asks you why delegation is popular on Steemit, just tell them it’s profitable, but their results may vary depending on to whom they delegate their Steem Power.
