From a black man's perspective, America has never been great. So, how can it be great again? Can a white man see anything from a Black perspective? I believe the negative. Why would a White person want to look at anything from a Black person's perspective? I would say that if he tried, the pain would be so great that he would commit suicide. How could a White person take responsibility for the condition of today's Black population? Would he be able to admit that he descended from a group of people that acquiesced to the propaganda that because of Blackness of the skin, a Black person was not a part of the human race where all men were created equal. Will they acknowledge that they are a part of a group of people who believe that Black people should appreciate the fact that they don't live in Africa anymore.
The Blacks should be happy in America as a permanent minority. Black people don't need to know their history. They don't need any land. They should just be patient and wait for the White race to solve any problem they may have when White people decide that it is feasible and apprpriate. Until then, the Blacks should figure out the best way to serve the majority population and behave in a non-threatening fashion. Even though it's closing in on 200 years of so-called emancipation of slavery in America, the Black population is not free. Slavery and disrespect persists as the oppressed Blacks endure ignorance while their issues continue to be ignored. Why is it that students of history in the White population are unable to connect the evils of the past to the ills of the present day? Does the poverty and violence devastating Black neighborhoods in the twentyfirst century have anything to do with the direct beneficiaries of White privilege, racism and superiority? A situation where there is willful ignorance equates complicity and guilt. Thus, we have the inability to ascertain the calamitous future in which this country is headed.
When a sickness is left undiagnosed, it begins to fester and grow. Many symptoms are generated to create awareness of the sickness. Eventually that which is sick must recognize the existential threat which the sickness represents and is now in a position to make a decision on how to handle the situation. Whatever choice is made may or may not be the correct choice. However corrections can be made and truths built upon. From this point, faith can be nurtured and strength increased to overcome the illness if it is not too late. Is it too late for America to overcome its sickness of genocidal tendencies? From a Black man's perspective, is the learned helplessness developed over 500 years of White supremacy/Black degradation destined to continue forever? From a Black man's perpective, how could America ever been great? Has he received his fair share of the rewards and profits produced by his own labor? Has he been given equal opportunity and protection under the laws as other members of the human race? Can a White person comprehend why his fellow Americans of the darkest hues do not believe that this has ever been a great country? Do the Whites honor and respect the views of these non-Whites. Where is the proof? Can this proof be refuted easily or is it the truth that stands the test of time?
What does our history books tell us about the sickness of America? Does it explain to us the mindset of people who yearned for their own freedom while simultaneously holding darker people in bondage and calling themselves White. What is the mindset of a people who would discard their own heritage freely and at the same time forcibly deny people of darker races their true history? These questions are necessary in order to get to the root of the problem that is America. America is not great. America is sick. America is dying. It has refused to honestly dialog with itself. It does not deny that racism is a problem. To the contrary, we see it on a daily basis. Because we are sick, we feel the pain. But our dishonesty about the devestating aftermath born from the root causes (slavery, genocide, and white supremacy) have left us helpless against injustice and evil. As Americans, we cannot see the cliff we are being herded toward. We cannot hear the warnings being sounded by today's prophets. We don't have the words to speak truth to power. As a nation, we comprehend not our destruction.
The ignorance that pervades this country is not total. There are pockets of wisdom everywhere because of the will of Truth. The only truth of a lie is that it is a lie. Once a lie is dicovered and identified, it must be vanquished. Only a devil has any use for lies. A man of truth finds another way besides the lie. To build off a lie is to inrease the lie and its destructive fruits. The ends do not justify the means because both are untrue and harmful if based in falsehood. They are both doomed. The country is bankrupt. History shows us that we solve or financial problems by going to war. This puts us into further debt. The powers that be lie to its constituents into believing in a boogey man that wants to kill and destroy everything in order to justify the war and hide the bankruptcy. How can a country that is in perpetual war and trillions of dollars in debt consider it self great? Why is there such an abundance of arrogance and hubris abound? Why is pride a good thing while being humble and meek a reason for oppression? In America, things are backwards, upside down, and inside out. Nothing is as it seems. And so, our president wants to make our country great again. But will he say that our country is great now? Will he ever be able to say that the country is once again great? Well, from this Black man's perspective in a White man's land, America has never been great and will never be great until we admit that we never were great and why we were never great! That soundslike a great start to being great once and for always!
