I've had the pleasure of drinking some Civet Coffee before. It truly has a uniquely smooth taste. This was some years back when a pound of coffee could be found for about $300/lb.

Interestingly enough I found the "coffee buzz" from this coffee to be a clean alertness with none of the jitter factor which can sometimes happen with too much coffee. Another observation was that to receive this peak state of alertness only took one cup of coffee. Whereas with my regular cup of coffee it usually take 2-3 cups to gain maximum alertness.

I was unaware of the living conditions of the Civets and I can say that reading your post changes my appreciation for the unique brew. Thank you for sharing your tour experiences.
