Letting go is empowering me, because I am no longer using that energy to worry about someone who needn't be in my life, needn't plague my thoughts, needn't leave a mark on my future at all.

I remember the first time I heard the phrase, "Living in my head rent-free." It made me pause and consider things that needed to be let go so that the space could be filled with things that bring me joy.
