Is the pond not doing well because there isn't natural aeration? I know that wherever we have manmade retention ponds, there are typically water features put in to add circulation which adds oxygen to the water. I wonder if there are solar powered aeration water features which could be used so that electricity isn't needed. If any body of water has no natural aeration then the stagnant water will attract mosquitoes and other undesirable critters.
