Now that I have shared the bulk of the journals which were floating around my studio and bookshelf. What now?
Well as this is the halfway point of the thirty posts for NaJoPoMo, I thought I would ponder that a bit with you.
Even after looking at all the journals that were both blank and had some writing in them, I'm still not sure I'm cut out to be someone who keeps a journal. However, I will say that is the version of me who has not journaled once during this challenge. Which means I haven't given journaling a fair shake.
What that means is that starting with the next post I will share my thoughts, not just on the concept of journaling as I have for the first half of the challenge, but on what my experience is actually journaling.
I'll admit there is a dread and resignation that sort of comes with this. Why? I have no idea. I like to write, but journaling again feels like something that should be worthy of standing the test of time. In 100 years will someone pick up my journal and have an appreciation for what life was like for me in the 21st Century? Or will they look at it and go, "What in the world?!"
Either way, I don't guess it will matter as I will have long ago gone on to my great reward. So, yeah. Stay tuned. Actual journaling will be happening soon.
