My second day in Taytay, Rizal felt like being treated as a VIP visitor! 🤭 My uncle went early to the market and bought plenty of food good for a week. He even said he bought more than usual because I’m included in the budget. Haha! ☺️❤️ That simple gesture really made me feel special. ☺️
When he arrived, it looked like we were preparing for a feast! There were so many fresh ingredients like vegetables, fruits, fish, shrimp, squid, chicken, pork, and more.
Just seeing the table full of food made me so happy! Everyone was busy cleaning the meat and seafoods. I took some photos while they prepared everything. ❤️
Then came the cooking time! Lunch turned into a mini fiesta. My uncle prepared Adobong Pusit, Sinigang na Hipon, and Isdang Paksiw. Everything smelled so good! ☺️❤️ I only helped chop the spices, but I proudly took photos of the finished dishes.
When lunch was ready, we gathered at the table and enjoyed the meal together. I was so full not just with food, but also with love and care. ❤️
They even said that my aunt from Canada sent extra money for food during my stay. Imagine that! Even though they’re only my father’s second cousins, they treated me like real family. I truly felt their kindness and generosity. ❤️
And the surprise didn’t end there! My aunt from Canada also sent ₱1,000 each for me and Aunt Carol as tiangge shopping money. ☺️❤️ We were both so happy! ☺️❤️ I already planned to buy pasalubong for my family in Leyte. I’ll share that tiangge day in another blog soon!
In the afternoon, I cooked Pancit for our snacks. As you can see in the photos, it was a lot! ☺️❤️ It’s just me as the visitor, yet it felt like a party with all the food we had. ☺️
I told my uncle that it seems to be a feast day everyday here! 🤭☺️ My original plan was to stay for three days only, but because of their warmth and the overflowing food, I joked that I might extend my stay for a week! 🤭☺️
Honestly, moments like this remind me that love is not measured by grand gestures but by genuine care and thoughtfulness. ❤️
