Introduction

Hello everybody, How are you? Here we are again for another social challenge, where we must share a replay of a battle, using a specific unit. In this week's challenge, our featured monster is ANGELIC MANDARIN and you can check out the full post by clicking on the image:

image.png

So, without further ado, let's go!

lotus_divisor.png

ANGELIC MANDARIN

I confess that I use this unit very little, not because it is bad, but because the water element has numerous powerful cards that I constantly summon, especially when we have a lot of mana available.

It turns out that our bluish friend can get into a game with few skills, because of its low cost and with its initial health at 5 points, it can hold back some attacks from the rear.

image.png

Rare water element unit, its attack is ranged and has a cost of 3 mana. As I said, I don't usually use this card, mainly because it doesn't have any skills in its first levels, but as it evolves, it can become a good support and help your team a lot.

I believe it fits better in low mana games, but nothing prevents it from being used in battles with lots of mana available as well.

KELYA FRENDUL, has practically a 100% synergy with any allied monster, after all, guaranteeing +1 speed and armor, she can apply this buff to everyone on her team. so an idea is that ANGELIC MANDARIN becomes a target that can protect its allies and withstand a certain number of attacks, as it will have 1 point of armor, in addition to its average health already at level 1.

image.png

In this way he can become a support not for abilities, since initially he doesn't have any, but a support that can protect his allies who are in positions behind him, such as becoming a living shield to protect against opponents who have OPPORTUNITY.

Status

Below we can see the entire evolution of our card:

image.png

We can see that in the first levels it is really discouraging to use ANGELIC MANDARIN for not having high skills or stats, but as explained, it can be a good option to hold some damage and protect your allies.

Skills

ANGELIC MANDARIN has a total of 2 skills: the first one is achieved at level 4 and the last one at level 8, its maximum level.

Unnamed design (1).png

TRIAGE: Ability gained at level 4, heals the back row ally monster that took the most damage. The amount healed is the ally's maximum health divided by 3 and rounded down, with minimum healed being 2 health.

Design sem nome.png

SILENCE: Ability gained at Level 8, Removes 1 Spell-Type attack from enemy monsters.

His ability TRIAGE only reinforces the fact that he stays ahead of his allies, to heal them and thus be a support willing to handle the damage and help your rear team.

At level 8 with the SILENCE it becomes a technical card against the earth element for example which is strong with the magic attack.

So that's the view I have, don't wait for an attack or something like that, its function is interesting as a support, being able to put a more powerful unit in the last position, which if it takes the most damage, it will be healed.

Marketplace

A quick look at the values with information taken from Splintercards.

  • Regular Chart:

  • Gold Chart:

image.png

  • Price List:

image.png

Its regular version is the second cheapest filtering by chaos legion edition:

image.png

In the golden version, no change:

image.png

I believe that this value of $2.71 in the golden version, for example, would not be a good investment, precisely because your first skill that would help the team a lot, is only available at level 4. It is not a financial recommendation, but if I had exactly that capital value, would use to draw another card.

Battle

It's time to show an example of how I used ANGELIC MANDARIN.

Battle Rules

For this battle we had 56 mana available and the water, earth, death and dragon elements enabled:

image.png

  • TARGET PRACTICE: All ranged and magic monsters have the ability SNIPE, which is the focus on attacking units with ranged, magic, or no attack type.

Team

My team was built as follows:

  • Summoner:

image.png

Unit
Objective
Diemonshark.jpg
Diemonshark
My tank pattern for the water element, has high speed, health and armor stats and with that it manages to hold the received damage well.
Flying Squid.jpg
Flying Squid
If you have mana available, this one certainly enters the battlefield, serves as a support for the first position and if it falls, it can assume the role of tank without problems.
Djinn Oshannus.jpg
Djinn Oshannus
To vary the team's damage, the magic attack starts with it, in addition to being extremely fast and having a lot of health, it has good protection against magic attacks as well.
Nerissa Tridawn.jpg
Nerissa Trida
An epic unit of respect, it has 3 points of magic damage already at its level 1 and a lot of health, so it is extremely lethal to its opponents.
Angelic Mandarin.jpg
Angelic Mandarin
The highlight of the match, I don't normally select him for battles, but I wanted to test him, putting him in this position to protect the last position of the team.
Axemaster.png
Axemaster
The water element is insane and AXEMASTER is so much more. It has the ranged attack and can attack 2 times per turn for a total of 4 damage per round.

Round 1

When starting the battle I already noticed that my opponent had all the monsters at level 1, even if that doesn't mean that every battle of this type will be easy, but in this one I already started confident that I would be able to win. My opponent also came from the water element.

1.gif

As there was no magic damage to the opponent, the battle would be even easier, because the use of KELYA FRENDUL is much more efficient when the types of attacks I will face are melee and ranged, so diversify the attacks. attacks is important.

This battle, showed well on both sides how to use the ANGELIC MANDARIN:

  • On the opponent's side, as the first monster with the ranged attack type, taking all damage due to the rule that grants SNIPE.
  • On my team to hold off DEEPLURKER's attacks, for being the lowest health monster and thus protecting AXEMASTER.

Round 2

2.gif

One more round and one more opposing monster has fallen. My offense was very well designed combining all types of attacks and again the ANGELIC MANDARIN held the damage, protecting the AXEMASTER which is a great finisher because of its damage that can be applied .

Round 3

3.gif

In this round 2 opposing monsters fell and ANGELIC MANDARIN was finally defeated. We can see that he managed to hold 3 rounds of damage, so in certain battles if we can predict that the opponent will use some unit with OPPORTUNITY, he can absorb this damage and protect his allies.

Round 4

4.gif

In the last round there was nothing to be done, victory was imminent. On my side, only one ally fell and the strategy set up and the use of monsters was very well used.

The replay with all the details can be checked here: Replay.

lotus_divisor.png

Conclusion

Each monster has its use, some may be a little less efficient, but that doesn't mean they should be forgotten, just that at a certain point they can be put to good use.

I believe that the function described is interesting, being a form of protection for battle companions and much more efficient from level 4, where you learn a skill capable of healing them.

I will pay more attention to these strategies, of units that are perhaps underestimated because they actually just play a different role on the battlefield.

Status

Abaixo podemos observar toda a evolução do nosso card:

image.png

Habilidades
