A doctor. Civil Hospital Quetta. 70% of her body burned. One eye destroyed. A woman who spent her entire life learning to save lives had her own life set on fire by a man. And then they have the audacity to say don’t hate men. This society sent a man with acid to repay her. Tell me with a straight face what she was supposed to do differently. Study less? Exist quieter?
She did everything right and a man still found a way to destroy her. This is not one incident. This is a pattern so old it has become invisible. Every woman who ever walked home fast, who ever shrunk herself, who ever swallowed her ambition just to survive — she knew. We all knew. And still we are told to be fair, to be balanced, to not generalize. But who is generalizing? The acid didn’t pick a specific man. And there are always more.
That doctor deserved a life so full and so bright it would have blinded you. Instead she is lying in a hospital bed because a man existed near her. And they want us to be calm about it.
