There is a reason I collect things, Lego, records (vinyl), vehicles, games console's, old pc's, classic hi-fi etc etc, and it is banks!.
With negative banking, which we have had for over a decade, there simply is no point in leaving large amounts of money in banks, for bankers to lend it out 10x over, and make a lot of money via interest, whilst giving us, or me, 0.0599% interest, whilst charging a monthly fee for their service.
The first picture is the Lego that I have literally been nagged to let my youngest daughter open and assemble. Yes at times I reach the breaking point and give in, it is always the same thing, she gets a quick view of them in the basement, then it comes for hours and hours, relentlessly lol "toys are to be played with by children not to be left in boxes".....
I keep saying one day they will all be hers, just a grown up her, one that can sell them if she wants or hand them down to her own children.
Why Lego? Just check out the price online with regards to dicontinued Lego, new in the box, you can set your own price, and see that ninjango set? This next picture, one seller was asking $13,000 US dollars for it on eBay, and it sold!. I paid just over £100 for mine.
I tend to buy any Lego I find being discontinued, like the batmobile in the first photo, even though it has been assembled, the resale price is much higher than when new.
What other goodies are hidden in the box?.
Besides a couple of military field radios, and a new old stock commodore 64 cassette deck.

And so it is, it makes more sense to invest in just about anything other than a bank, for me at least anyway. My UK bank is the 0.5%, my local bank is 0% and a monthly fee, so again, negative banking.
Why give it to them anyway!.
So with a very steady income stream via online sales of used parts, I invest in all of the above, plus land and apartments. All of which give a higher return than them miserable bankers, can I change the b for a w please bob? (blockbusters just in case you do not get it).....
The shops and online sellers tend to discount the price on going out of stock items, so that for me is the time to buy.
My daughter is very gentle with the built Lego, and she stores them in a draw so no parts have been lost, so I guess I/we are lucky in that respect.
