Lucasfilm has published the official synopsis of Han Solo: A History of Star Wars, the movie of the galactic franchise for this year. Without revealing anything, he reminds us only that we will see Han, Chewbacca and Lando in their infancy.
Climb aboard the Millennium Falcon and embark on a journey through a galaxy very far away with Han Solo: A story of Star Wars, a new adventure with the most beloved rascal in the galaxy. After several complicated escapades from the darkest and deepest of the criminal underworlds, Han Solo meets his strong co-pilot, Chewbacca, and the famous player, Lando, starting together a trip that will channel one of the most unexpected heroes of the Star Wars saga.
Han Solo will be played by Alden Ehrenreich, Lando Calrissian played by Donald Glover, and Chewbacca by Joonas Suotamo, who replace Harrison Ford, Billy Dee Williams and Peter Mayhew, the original actors of those characters. Also in the cast we have Woody Harrelson as Beckett, and Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Paul Bettany with characters still to be determined.
The film will arrive in May 2018.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller have been directing the entire film and a good part of the shooting, which started in February, but in June they were replaced by Ron Howard, filming officially ended in October 2017. The script is the work of Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, father and son.
It is known that he will be between 18 and 24 years of Han Solo's life. We will see important details of his life: how it is done with the Millennium Falcon or his friendship with Chewbacca.
