Are you picky with the products you purchase?
Or are you the type who goes with the hype and endorsed by a celebrity?
We all have our favorite beauty products in mind. It is best to go natural but sometimes you can't help but to buy products that would give you good results. Whenever I purchase any product, I'm very picky. I make sure it is within budget and has the following ingredients in mind:
Vitamin E (Tocopherol)
Vitamin E has a lot of benefits for our skin. It is known to promote elasticity and moisture and aids in the reduction of skin inflammation. It is also a strong anti-oxidant and is helpful against skin cancer. I sometimes have acne and sometimes eczema occurs so Vitamin E helps in keeping it away.
Zinc oxide
In my suncreens, as well as foundation or pressed powder, it is important that the ingredients have zinc oxide in it. Zinc oxide is a safe suncreen. It protects the skin from UV radiation. It is also used in products to protect and heal against diaper rash and other skin problems. It is very safe even for the most sensitive skin.
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid)
Vitamin C has a lot of benefits for the skin. It aids in the production of collagen which is a component to anti-aging and protects against sun damage. I realized that using products with Vitamin C makes my skin glow and supple. I also feel a tingling freshness with products that have Vitamin C in it.
Kojic Acid
In minimal amounts, Kojic Acid derived from fungi and byproduct of sake or rice win is beneficial to the skin. It is widely used to lighten dark spots and to gently exfoliate the skin. Skin exfoliation is essential to give way to new skin keeping it younger looking. I use kojic soap few times in a week to lighten dark spots especially my freckles.
Shea Butter, Moringa oil, Argan, Sunflower and other natural oils.
I usually buy lotions with shea butter or other natural oils in it. These oils intensively moisturize and are very ideal for dry skin because of the vitamins, fatty acids and also promotes collagen production. I have dry skin on my arms and legs so I feel comfortable applying moisturizers like lotions or oils on it.
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid locks in a great amount of moisture and it makes your skin feel supple and glowing. It improves the skin by replenishing its moisture and preventing the appearance of dry skin, fine lines and wrinkles.
Keratin
Keratin for the hair is essential in keeping it strong and healthy. It retains shine and moisture. Keratin in hair products promotes anti-hair fall, I noticed less hair fall in using keratin infused shampoo and conditioners.
These products may help you improve your skin and hair, a way to enhance your beauty. Always check the label, it doesn't mean that expensive means effective. I tried some products that are not suitable for me even if it's a well-known expensive brand and promoted by popular celebrities. Some products even gave me the worst break-outs and dermatitis. You have to test these products carefully and know the company behind it. Some products may work on me but not on others and it's always a case to case basis, but it's best to scrutinize and check the ingredients before we purchase something. It is best that you use some of these products in moderation as well.
And most importantly, I prefer the product to be not tested on animals.
How about you? What are your go-to ingredients from your trusted beauty products?
