Encuentro de Talentos: El sabio viaje hacia los 100 años/The Wise Journey to 100 Years (ESP-ENG)
ENGLISH VERSION
And there is Mr. Ramón, strong as an oak tree even at his age. My grandmother tells me he is close to 100 years old, but his mind is still clear, and he remains the kind neighbor who, with joy, gathers the falling leaves from the trees and keeps the front of our homes clean and well-kept.
Ramón walks steadily toward his centennial, but it must not be an easy task to do so. I think to myself that at twenty-six, muscle aches and fatigue sometimes bring me down, but I see him handling this journey of life so well that I tell myself I must bring better habits to my daily life to also walk happily to my 100 years, if God allows me to.
In an internal analysis, I think about how I should change my diet, add more plant fiber and healthier foods. I also need to exercise my body more, but hahaha I always tell myself I'll do the exercises tomorrow, and that tomorrow ends up being months or years 😅.
I know that sometimes it's hard to have a healthier daily routine, but if I made it a discipline, I would surely be able to walk with more energy as the years go by, just like I see Ramón.
Yes, it has to be more than a challenge; it must be a discipline that I implement in my life. My self-love should lead me to realize that when driving through life toward the path of 100 years, I need to take care of every little aspect that, although it may not seem important now, is essential to build a more solid foundation and reach that great goal.
But reaching 100 years is not just about taking care of the body; it is also a journey of the soul. This week's contest invites us to ask ourselves: How are the grudges? In my case, I have learned that carrying the past is like carrying a backpack full of stones. So it is necessary to let them go and free myself from the attachments that do not do me good. I have left behind the fears that paralyzed me, because faith has taught me that I am not alone on this path. Life is a great walk, and as @talentos' invitation says, it is about moving forward, falling, getting up, and continuing, so we don't stay in the same circle.
I must leave constant stress behind, let go of what traps me in an unfavorable comfort zone, and take more action. I have decided to reach that goal and do it with joy and without grudges. The fear of aging or the changes it brings should not be something to worry about because it is a stage of life that is wonderful to reach. And you? Would you dare to take on the challenge and walk toward those 100 years without fear? What would you change in your life to achieve it?
I thank @talentos for these wonderful spaces and I also want to invite you to participate in this Encuentro de Talentos.
